The Mint Café
A Landmark in Downtown Wausau
The Mint Café
was “modernized” in the 1950’s covering the local diner’s
historical features. Owners Joe and Mary Pepowski decided
it was time to make a change, to step back in time while
looking forward with improvements that provide additional
comfort for their customers and employees.
The exterior green tile was removed, the underlying terra
cotta exposed, new doors, windows and roofing installed.
The interior was “gutted”, walls reworked and decorative
moldings salvaged. The critical item, the signature color
of mint green was reinstated in the furnishings. |
