Hessel and Hamlin named LEED Green Associates

Gregg Hessel, AIA, Architect and Melody Hamlin, Associate AIA, Senior Architectural Intern at Becher-Hoppe Associates, Inc., a Wausau-based Engineering and Architectural firm, recently achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation through the U.S. Green Building Council as Green Associates.

The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance buildings.  The LEED Professional Accreditation recognizes building professionals that possess the knowledge and skills to successfully implement LEED principles and certification.  The LEED credential represents the individual’s knowledge of the LEED rating system and its application in practice. Individuals can become LEED accredited by successfully completing a comprehensive education and testing procedure

This credential will allow the Architectural Department to more effectively work with clients who are considering integrating sustainable concepts into their projects.  This service is not limited to building design, as many of the concepts relate to site design as well.
