Hessel and Hamlin named LEED Green Associates
Gregg Hessel, AIA, Architect and
Melody Hamlin, Associate AIA, Senior Architectural Intern at
Becher-Hoppe Associates, Inc., a Wausau-based Engineering
and Architectural firm, recently achieved Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation through
the U.S. Green Building Council as Green Associates.
The LEED Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally
accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and
operation of high performance buildings. The LEED
Professional Accreditation recognizes building professionals
that possess the knowledge and skills to successfully
implement LEED principles and certification. The LEED
credential represents the individual’s knowledge of the LEED
rating system and its application in practice. Individuals
can become LEED accredited by successfully completing a
comprehensive education and testing procedure
This credential will allow the Architectural Department to
more effectively work with clients who are considering
integrating sustainable concepts into their projects. This
service is not limited to building design, as many of the
concepts relate to site design as well. |
