Government Affairs Seminar
Ken Ligman, Senior Project Manager
recently attended the Government Affairs Seminar sponsored
by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. A wide
array of environmental issues were presented by recognized
experts. This year, special topics involved nutrient
regulation and funding issues. Emphasis was provided on
upcoming stringent phosphorus limits, stormwater compliance
and effluent trading. Of particular interest was the
presentation of a research project which investigated
viruses in groundwater as a result of sewer pipe leaks. The
Government Affairs Seminar is held each year and provides
municipal officials, treatment plant operators, consultants
and government employees with an overview and update of
current issues. |
