The Highway Technician Members Complete Certification Program

Dan Gerling, Chad Grundemann, Mark Pertile and Sean Spromberg recently completed the Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Technician Training, part of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP).

The focus of the training involved asphalt plants, the WisDOT Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC) asphaltic quality management program procedures, WisDOT standard specifications, statistical quality control, and laboratory testing.

The principle goal of the HTCP is to "certify that individuals have demonstrated abilities to engage in quality control or quality assurance activities in highway work contracted by the WisDOT."

Several Becher Hoppe staff members have also participated in the HTCP Aggregate Technician course and plan to participate in many future HTCP courses covering topics such as Portland Cement Concrete, Grading, and Nuclear Density.
