Waterloo and Seneca Falls Dam - Waterloo, New York

Becher Hoppe provided FERC required Part 12D consultant safety inspections for the Waterloo Dam and Seneca Falls Dam Hydroelectric Projects located along the Erie Canal system in upstate New York. The two dam facilities regulate water levels along the Seneca Canal. Every 5 years, FERC regulated dams are required to have an independent engineering consultant provide a detailed review of all design documents and an inspection of each hydroelectric dam project.  This work includes a comprehensive review of potential dam failure modes and risk reduction actions that the dam owner/operates can perform to lower the likelihood of potential failure.  Becher Hoppe performed these dam inspections and reporting in 2011 and 2016.
