Becher Hoppe, a respected engineering firm with over 70 years of excellence, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Specialist to join our Real Estate Consulting Group and support future right-of-way acquisition projects. Located in picturesque downtown Wausau, WI, we serve a diverse clientele, including private clients, local municipalities, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), and the Bureau of Aeronautics (BOA). Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the real estate needs of municipal, WisDOT, and BOA clients, including appraisal, negotiation, and acquisition/relocation.
- Collaborate with local municipalities to educate, advise, and guide them through the real estate acquisition process.
- Establish and maintain project budgets while managing and overseeing project execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Transportation real estate/right-of-way services: appraisal, negotiation, and acquisition
- Wisconsin State Certified General Appraisal license, or ability to obtain within six months
- WisDOT approved Appraiser for LPA projects, or ability to obtain within six months
- WisDOT approved Negotiator for LPA projects, or ability to obtain within six months
- Notary Public, or ability to obtain
- Familiarity with WisDOT Real Estate Program Manual
- Understanding and experience with engineering concepts/drawings and the ability to explain to property owners
- Understanding of real estate law as it applies to title searches, property ownership, other parties of interest and the drafting of necessary right-of-way legal documents
- Experience with WisDOT READS database program
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills
- Work effectively with all levels of the design team and take direction from multiple stakeholders
