Over a 6-year study period, there were 11 crashes at the intersection of STH 54 and CTH U, resulting in 18 injuries.  The intersection was in need of a safety enhancement.  Becher Hoppe was contracted by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to provide design engineering services for this intersection safety improvement project including tasks from alternatives analysis through final design.
